Top Quality, Low Prices and Plenty in Stock
We have made use of an old agricultural barn (that once housed cows and horses – oh how that manure would come in handy now!) and with a few little tweaks, Sunrise Plants was born. Almost all of our selling area is undercover and easy to navigate and very accessible. We have an ideal plant environment, sheltered from the wind with big, clear roof panels to let the sun stream in!

Plants sourced from the U.K & throughout Europe
We source our PLANTS from the UK and all around Europe – Holland, Italy, Spain, Germany –constantly searching for the best deals which we are then able to pass onto you. Often, our plants come from the Naardwark and Rotterdam auctions, which are attended by our buyers on a daily basis, delivered fresh, bi-weekly, to us here in Saundby.
Awarded 5* reviews on Facebook Too!
We offer service with a smile and quite often a laugh – we take what we do seriously, just not ourselves! Come and meet us at Sunrise (well a bit later as we don’t open till 9am but you get the drift we hope) and see for yourself why we have grown so quickly in such a short space of time to become one of the regions most POPULAR plant and garden centres in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
We keep it very simple, not because we’re stupid, we just like it that way! We stock seasonal plants, alongside pots and compost, (as well as Christmas trees in December). We don’t sell candles, cushions, jam or chutney – we leave that to the big guns!
A special mention to Jim Bone
“As you may have read, Sunrise Plants is a family-run, local business which was founded in March 2015 by myself, Rosie Levick. I have drawn on my many years of experience in the garden centre industry, taking great inspiration from my late father Jim Bone. Jim led the way in the 1970’s developing the modern day garden centre format we all know so well today. From humble beginnings on a fruit & veg stall in Edmonton, North London, he went on to build (with his brother Len) the famous World’s End Garden Centre in Wendover, Bucks (now owned by Wyevale). He was a good teacher! His influence remains ever present as do his philosophies of customer service, great value, better quality“
